In this blog post, we will explore what NFT games are, how they work, as well as where you can find some of the best opportunities to start earning by playing!

What makes NFT games different?

Before revealing my top picks, I want to share some quick facts about NFTs. I’ve already made a post about NFTs or Non-Fungible Tokens HERE. But as an overview, an NFT is a digital representation of a unique, verifiable, and rare digital item. It represents ownership of digital assets such as in-game assets, digital collectible cards, event tickets, or even memes.

Lost Relics: One of the Top NFT Games to Play Right Now

Once you play NFT games, you have a sense of ownership of your in-game assets like characters, weapons, lands, or any valuable items within the game. And since you own these things, you have the full discretion of what you’ll do with them by selling characters or items or by trading the reward tokens you get from the game itself.

What does it mean to own an NFT?

For example, in one of the most popular games right now, Axie Infinity, once you own Axies (the digital pets in the game), you can use them to play and earn rewards. You can also sell these Axies anytime if you want to. Yet aside from those, you can also earn through breeding and selling rare items. These transactions take place in their official marketplace: https://marketplace.axieinfinity.com/axie.

Although NFT games like Axie Infinity sound like a dream come true for die-hard gamers, you still have to shell off a particular amount in order to set your foot into the game and own those in-game assets (characters, weapons, lands, items, upgrades, etc). To cut it short, it takes money to make money in NFT games.

Final Thoughts

Gaming is an industry that continues to evolve. Nowadays, gamers are not only playing games; they can also earn money out of their time invested in them. In fact, I think this will become a profession rather than just a hobby soon enough! What about you? Do you think the future of NFT gaming is bright? And if you are to choose one NFT game to play from the list above, what would it be?

PS: There’s still a lot of NFT games out there but if you ever encounter one, make sure to do your own research before investing in it. Read their whitepaper and check the developer’s background.

It’s interesting how gamers these days can play and earn at the same time. This activity requires time as an investment and while they look fun, I am not inclined to playing them. I’m trying to minimize my screentime these days. But I have someone in mind who will surely try these out. Thank you for sharing, Sheila.

NFT gaming is not the future, just another form of gambling. Just Crypto Corps abusing mindless teens to spend their money gambling in disguise of games. Most Nft gaming are ponzi schemes and since they need to reach a new market, the gamers, especially teens. It is even degrading the gaming industry. Instead of innovation focus on gameplay, fun, grapics, etc., they devs focus on news ways on controling the economy and expanding their pozni schemes. Stop supporting NFT games, these are just devs from another country, especially, Vietnam, trying to steal your money in promise of an easy cash in expense of your fellow man and your dignity. They only target 3rd world countries, susceptible to ponzi schemes due to low education and desperation to earn. Stop supporting NFT games, its for your own good.
