7 Apps That Pay You to Exercise (Get Paid in Cryptocurrency!)

Getting fit by exercise is one of the hardest things to do consistently. There will be days that you will lack the motivation to hit the gym. And sometimes you feel that you’re not making any progress on your fitness journey and just decide to continue eating french fries.

But how about earning cryptocurrencies currencies while exercising? Would that add some motivation? I bet, Yes. Who wouldn’t want to earn while burning those belly fats? In this article, I will provide the seven apps that pay you to exercise.

In this article, I covered seven of the best fitness apps that pay you to exercise. You just need a smartphone and a fitness tracker to get started.

1. Actifit

Actifit mobile app allows you to earn token rewards via auto-tracking your everyday activity. It tracks your movements such as walking, jogging, doing household chores, walking the dog, or any activity you are performing.

It has its own token called AFIT tokens. These tokens can be exchanged on the Actifit Market to signup for fitness or nutrition-related consultation, buy ebooks, or boost rewards by purchasing Actifit-based booster gadgets.

You can earn more AFIT tokens if you are a token holder on Hive and/or Steemit (crypto blogging platforms). Users who post content about their workout or activity on these platforms can earn rewards via upvotes.

2. FitCoin

This fitness app will let you earn Fitcoin tokens while burning calories. The FitCoin app syncs with fitness trackers such as Apple Health, Fitbit, Garmin. These trackers will send data such as heart rate and length of activity to the app to monitor how much energy is being used, which will be converted into Fitcoin tokens.

Your Fitcoin tokens can be converted to Bitcoin. If you do not have a Bitcoin account, you will need to create one in the Bitcoin repository and connect it to the app. You can also use your earnings to purchase items from its own marketplace, fitcoinstore.com.

3. LifeCoin

LifeCoin app gives rewards to its users who do outdoor activities like walking, running, hiking, and others. The app will track your step count and converts it into their own virtual currency called life coins. These life coins can be exchanged for gift cards, sporting goods, gadgets, discount codes, and many more.

The app is ideal for people who walk for long distances each day, or for those who wish to get into a fitness program that entails extensive walking or running. It is important to note, however, that LifeCoin will not validate any steps taken indoors.

4. Lympo

Lympo is a free fitness app that allows you to earn LYM crypto tokens, the currency being used in the app by completing daily tasks & challenges. These LYM tokens have real value and can be used to buy products from the in-app marketplace, Lympo Shop.

There are daily health tasks and fitness challenges that can be performed both indoors and outdoors. With the help of blockchain technology and fitness gamification, you will be rewarded after each completed task. Your LYM crypto tokens will be safely stored in the in-app digital wallet.

5. PK Rewards

PK Rewards app tracks any kind of physical activity that you do. It can be a walk, run, hike, aerobics, jump rope, or any sports that require you to move.

Any physical activity that can be tracked by your phone will earn coins. The more effort you put into the exercise, the faster you earn. These coins can be later redeemed for rewards such as trips, apparel, and even gift cards.

A paid plan is available with a lot of features. But if you just want to get fit and earn rewards, then the free version will suffice.

6. Sweatcoin

This fitness app will pay you for walking outdoors. It has its own virtual currency called Sweatcoins. To use this app, you need to sign up and connect your smartphone’s health and fitness data and GPS location to the Sweatcoin app. The app then tracks how many steps you take in a day and convert it to Sweatcoin.

For every 1,000 steps recorded, the app will pay out .95 in Sweatcoins  (there is a 5% fee on all credits you earn, hence the 0.95 value). Users can use these coins to trade for a variety of rewards such as books, fitness gears, clothing, workout classes, and many more.

Although Sweatcoin is a form of digital currency, it cannot be considered as a cryptocurrency because its infrastructure does not make use of blockchain technology, but a centralized database. It cannot also be traded into cryptocurrency exchanges in the same way as most cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum do.

7. Wellcoin

Wellcoin rewards users by doing healthy habits. You can earn Wellcoins in a lot of ways, such as sleeping at least seven hours per night, drinking healthy beverages, hiking, seeing a health professional, doing sports activities, and even cleaning the house.

Members need to report and verify their healthy activities by syncing their account with fitness trackers like Fitbit and other brands, or by uploading photos to verify their activity.

Wellcoin is a health currency that has real purchasing power. Members can shop with Wellcoins in an online marketplace with over 65 merchant partners, including Skechers, Reebok, Whole Foods Market, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, and Pure Barre.

Final note

I hope these apps can help you achieve that toned body by giving you some motivation through rewards. My personal favorite among the seven options is Actifit. Aside from the earning potential from exercising, I can also connect it to my crypto blogging account and earn more by journaling my fitness journey.

The apps I mentioned however have different types of rewards and track different forms of exercise. So choose the one depending on how intense your workout is and the type of setting you’re most comfortable with to sweat off those unwanted curves — whether indoor or outdoor.

Nevertheless, I’m sure that if you use any of these apps, you will reap the best reward of all, which is good health and a fit body.

Thank you for giving me idea. Just recently, I just started doing 1-hour exercise daily after waking up at 3:00 AM in the morning. I don’t know if I could maintain this throughout the year, but this cryptocurrency thing can really boost my external motivation. I look forward to try one of these.

Wow, I am truly amazed at how you manage to wake up at dawn just to exercise! I can barely even wake myself up at 6 in the morning hahaha

I have a friend who earns at least 1k pesos per month. Not that much but not that bad either hahaha

Among the ones mentioned here, I am only familiar with Sweatcoin. It was introduced by my brother last year where it was a bit challenging to move around because of the lockdown. Somehow, I have been using it these days but takes long to earn coins…Thanks for this post, I would try another app to help me to be “fit” again.

I have heard about these but I haven’t had the time to read up more. Thank you for sharing these, Sheila. I am a runner and I run everyday, and it is interesting to know that there are apps I can explore as well to run more, earn more, repeat. 😀

  • Mayra Uy

I am only familiar of sweatcoin because I use it just recently, maybe a month ago it’s really hard to earn those coins I walk a lot because of my job. But if you’re looking for free money as others say you will not gonna get any free. You have to spend sometihing in order to get something, I used the free one I barely earn those sweet coin a day but then I change the plan to paid one but not real money so it is better than the free one, I even register on the website that say earn free blablabla but it’s the same you will not gonna get what they said if you don’t spend money real money in their site or app, just being honest sorry and peace ✌️✌️✌️

Hi Mayra! Indeed, we can’t really expect a lot from these but I guess the best reward we get is getting fit and healthy.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience 😀
